Can't delete Calendar
by possum » Thu Dec 15, 2011 1:23 am
Hello,
I am using Joomla 1.7 and JEvents 2.0.11. I created a Calendar that I want to delete. It is not the default calendar. I did have an event associated with it. But I deleted it. Now I get an error "Deleting this will create orphan events - delete the events first". But there are no events. Do I need to purge something?
Thanks:)

Can you check that there are no Past events as they are not shown by default.
Thanks
Thanks

Hello,
I put hide past events to "No". And it shows no events.
This is a new install, so I was just testing things.
Do I have to uninstall and delete the files in the database?
Would you know which files to delete?
Thanks, Chuck

Interesting, this should not happen.
You can do an un-install and then use:
viewtopic.php?f=17&t=10580
To completely remove Jevents.
Regards
Tony

Hi There,
I followed your directions. I uninstalled the component and then ran the program to clean the database.
I then installed the 2.0.14 version. And when I went back in the two calendars from the previous install where there and again I couldn't delete the one that is causing problems.
Thanks, Chuck

Can you send me backend login details via PM and tell me which calendar you want to remove together with all its events.

Hello, sorry for bumping an old post, but I happened to find the same problem and searching took me here...
I was trying to import an ics calendar to test that functionality, then I imported a google calendar link to try this function as well; I could import them without problems.
Then I deleted all the events, and now I'm not able to delete the test calendar created with the file, but there are no events (either past or future)! I get the orphans error...
Now even if I import the file again I cant' see any imported event and the calendar seems locked by non-existing events supposed to become orphans...
I think there is a big mess...
I would like to erase all the test calendars/events and reimport the good final one.
Thank you for your help

@Tony - I don't think this will help since the cleanup script doesn't remove the event data.
@studioeventi - Can you send me login details so I can investigate. In the meantime you could unpublish the first test calendar and re-import a new one.
