latest events layout view does not override component

All,

I prefer one layout for the large calendar and another for the latest events module, but it does not seem to work correctly. The module seems to always use whatever is set in the component config. Is there something I might be doing wrong? Or is there a setting to allow them to operate independently?

With JEvents 2.0 you can specify separate layouts for modules and menu items though you may get some cross contamination of css.

Thank you for the reply. I am using 2.0. I believe you're correct that it's css cross contamination b/c on the page where I have my module, I see it loading the css for the component's selected layout / theme. Is there a way to prevent that?

You can tell the module not to load the css and then use your own version of the CSS in your template with careful use of
!important
to make it stick.

Hello Leopoldo69,

It sounds as the the custom format string is not being used.

You can set it in two places, from the module it's self and Jevents configuration. now in the module you might find it best to set the option "Use Component" Settings. this will then allow you to make all the changes from the Jevents Configuration page.

After choosing component settings, you have to configure the latest events parameters in the Configuration area of JEvents.
