Access level of events of "Show only for invited"

Postby Olekeh » Sat Mar 20, 2010 11:56 am

Hello,

The first block of checkboxes for the access level of the event (Private, public, only for jomsocial, etc) - Here is two sugetsions:

The "Only show to attendees" should be moved to this block. If this radiobutton is checked, then it will prohibit setting it as private, that whould not work with invitations. If setting it to private, then the invitation form should be disabled. Checking this would make it public, but only for invited.

The text on detail page that says "public" should say "For invited people" if that radiobutton is checked.

This changes would take away some of the confusion around the use of those controls, and make it a bit more user friendly. (Who can see my event? - if its a 50 aniverary event for some family member, then one would think "private" if one dont know how to use this system from before).

Here is one more easy sugestion. (One can do it self in the language files), but here is my sugestion:

The text from the front end that involves the consept of "Jomsocial Friends", should have the word "Jomsocial" removed. JomSocial is the name of the system the administrators have choosen for the site, and not neccessarely known for the users of the site. In that particular site, only "Friends" should be used, as there is unusual to have several social systems installed on the same site. The word "JomSocial" makes it possible for the users to think this is another system they have not yet signet up to, and in some way connected - and not that it is friends on this site. In the backend it is OK to use this term as it views the compatibility with the system that is installed.
