mod_jevents_latest suggestions

Postby dpsghh » Mon Oct 19, 2009 12:05 pm

hello geraint, we are moving from another calendar to Jevents and there has been two features in module latest events, i wanted to ask for mod_jevents_lates of Jevents calendar:

1. Possibility to dont show today events if time is over. For example, i dont have to see at 16:00 pm that there has been an event at 10:00 am.

2. Possibility to show month like a headline over events in that month, so, if you have two month events to show, you can see quickly what month they are. Like following example:
________
Oktober
1. event and date
2. event and date
3. event and date
__________
November
4. event and date
5. event and date
6. event and date

These are good ideas. I'm thinking of writing a new latest events module from scratch that would allow more flexible layouts and customisation.

Its a tricky balance between being easy to use, having lots of configuration options and having powerful customisation options. Perhaps what I'll do is have a few standard layouts that can be chosen (and added to).

I have a 'half way' solution working where you can add more fields into the current custom string. You'll be able to try this next week.

Haven't had a chance to do the full rework.

Didnt wanted to hurry you, was just wondering if its on the way ;) Thank you for the answer and the work. Will it be possible to give all events of one month the head of this month like mentioned in first post?

Please try this version of the module (from the version 1.5.4)

It doesn't work in ruthin or extplus yet since they are separate downloads.

You can do stuff like this:

Code: Select all
${startDate(%a %e %b %I:%M%P)}[!a: - ${endDate(%I:%M%P)}]
${title}<br/>${summary}<br/>${loc_city}<br/>${freq}

Thank you, looks as if it replaces the other module, right?

What about plans for:
Hiding events after endtime has past instead of hiding if enddate has past :?:
Possibility to show monthname like a headline over events in specific month :?:
