Making a new template
JEvents 2.0 was launched over 2 years ago and the latest stable version is version 2.2 which will run on Joomla 1.5 and Joomla 2.5. JEvents 1.5 is therefore no longer actively supported - you should upgrade to JEvents 2.2+ as soon as possible.

Making a new template
by micksnel » Mon Oct 11, 2010 5:07 pm
Hi all,
Im having great difficulty trying to make a new template in the \components\com_jevents\views\ folder.
I thought it would be as simple as to copy the default or the geraint template and then just adjusting some of the css and images in those folders but the names default and geraint get used a lot in the php-files.
So i tried to adjust the php files, but there's just too many adjustements to be made before an entire template works again.
I must be doing something wrong?
Ive searched the internet and youre pages but all I could find was http://www.jevents.net/en/jevents-15-topmenu-17/43-customising-layouts-in-jevents-15 which just tells me how to adjust layouts. Which is not the problem.
Al I want is to see a template with the specific name of my company in the jevents settings in Joomla.
Any help is appreciated.

Then start from the layout you want (apart from default) e.g. geraint.
Copy the whole geraint folder to newname folder then do a search and replace for "geraint" and replace with "newname" - make sure you match the case.
Remember that you can't remove any copyright or license statements from the files you copy.

Hi Geraint!
I´ve done that with your template using the current the version 2.2.0 of JEvents; but now "latest" module asks me to "reinstall" template; so does that mean that your proposed and simple way is no longer possible?

Hi bernd - the modules expect to use the same layout. So repeat the same exercise copying and renaming folders/files in the latest events and minicalendar module fodler.
