New MySQL error - out of nowhere

JEvents 2.0 was launched over 2 years ago and the latest stable version is version 2.2 which will run on Joomla 1.5 and Joomla 2.5. JEvents 1.5 is therefore no longer actively supported - you should upgrade to JEvents 2.2+ as soon as possible.
Forum rules
Please include as much detail in any test or bug reports for JEvents 1.5 as possible.

First of all, check if you are running the latest available version of Joomla! and JEvents. Posts for issues, where both systems are not updated, will be ignored.

We need the following at least:

* PHP version (e.g. 5.2.5). Note: Support for PHP4 is discontinued.
* Joomla! version
* JEvents version
* Web Server software (Apache or IIS with version number if possible)
* Server Operating system (e.g. Linux, Windows, Solaris, Darwin ...)
* Database version
* memory_limit from your phpinfo
* Web browser and version

Please enable error reporting and include any error messages in your posting. You do this via the Joomla Configuration - set "error reporting" to "maximum" on the Server tab.

Finally, please describe the steps required to recreate the problem and also please enable error reporting and give us any error messages generated.

New MySQL error - out of nowhere

Postby poorvida » Mon Nov 26, 2012 3:48 am

Yesterday, all of the sudden, any page on my site that shows JEvents or and JEvents module is throwing a MySQL error.

Code: Select all
You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'TYPE=MyISAM' at line 8 SQL=CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS xxxx_jev_attendance( id int(11) NOT NULL auto_increment, ev_id int(11) NOT NULL default 0, allowregistration tinyint(1) unsigned NOT NULL default 0, allowcancellation tinyint(1) unsigned NOT NULL default 0, allrepeats tinyint(1) unsigned NOT NULL default 1,    PRIMARY KEY (id) ) TYPE=MyISAM;You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'TYPE=MyISAM' at line 9 SQL=CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS xxxx_jev_attendees( id int(11) NOT NULL auto_increment, at_id int(11) NOT NULL default 0, user_id int(11) NOT NULL default 0, rp_id int(11) NOT NULL default 0, PRIMARY KEY (id), INDEX (at_id,user_id), INDEX (at_id,user_id,rp_id) ) TYPE=MyISAM;

I haven't changed anything, or added anything new, other than articles and events. No components, modules, or plugins have been added or removed, so Im not really sure what could have happened.

I deleted all new events created over the last few days, and that didn't do anything for me either.

Can you please check with your hosting company if they upgraded your MySQL Database?

Furthermore, what version of JEvents?

If they upgraded MySQL as Carcam asked for you to check and your on an old version of JEvents it is likely optimized for an older version of MySQL as we do not state the TYPE much now.

Regards
Tony
