Category selection problem with mod_jevents_latest

JEvents 2.0 was launched over 2 years ago and the latest stable version is version 2.2 which will run on Joomla 1.5 and Joomla 2.5. JEvents 1.5 is therefore no longer actively supported - you should upgrade to JEvents 2.2+ as soon as possible.
Forum rules

Category selection problem with mod_jevents_latest

Postby vickipayne » Fri Feb 24, 2012 5:00 pm

Hi,
I have two Jevents Latest events modules running on my site. One is set to show events from a single category (category is called "365events") That module is working correctly. My second Jevents Latest module is set to show events from all of the other categories - but not from "365events".

The problem is that the 2nd module shows events from all categories, including "365events." It does not seem to matter which categories I specify in that module, it shows events from all categories.

I am using older versions - 1.5.1 of both the component and module. (I am reluctant to upgrade because the calendar setup on this site is pretty intricate.) Can you think of a reason that the second Jevents Latest module would not be picking up the right categories, though?

Thank you! Vicki

Hello Vicky,

I cannot, apart from the fact it is loaded after the first one... doubt it will make any different but can you swap which is loaded first.

I also highly! recommend you upgrade to at least 1.5.6 as a security fix was in 1.5.6. Providing you have not hard coded any files there will be no issue. I would preform a backup in case anything went wrong.

Regards
Tony

Thanks, Tony - I think we'll probably do an upgrade. I do have some hardcoded files, but will certainly back them up.
