Am going to buy if I can get the CSV upload function working
JEvents 2.0 was launched over 2 years ago and the latest stable version is version 2.2 which will run on Joomla 1.5 and Joomla 2.5. JEvents 1.5 is therefore no longer actively supported - you should upgrade to JEvents 2.2+ as soon as possible.

PHP Version: 5.2.17
J 1.5
JEvents 2.011
Server: linux/Apache/1.3.42 (Unix)
Database Version: 5.0.91mm-log
Memory limit: 96 M
Browser: Firefox 3.6.3
I am working on attempting to setup a calendar on a site.
http://184.154.233.4/~powerber/index.ph ... &Itemid=33
I am currently unable to access all of the import controls from the backend. No problems, I instead take the site into maintenance mode and attempt to upload from the front end.
I've followed all of the publicly available info on setting up the csv file, and have converted the file to ical.
When I attempt to upload the file, no events are imported. I want this module as its the perfect solution for what I am attempting to do, and need the bulk upload option. Is this available in the paid version as i am only testing it right now on a dev site.
Let me know if you require more info.

Hello,
Why can you not access the backend? is that folder protected by a .htaccess?
You will find if that is the case, you will need to modify the .htaccess file to allow files to access the administration folder as certain files are stored there which the front end require.

Sorry for the confusion.
The backend is fully accessible. But when in Jevents there is no option to import.
I've seen the example csv files, but must be missing something as no items get imported.
Is it possible to get the free version working this way?

Okay, so upon further inspection I've discovered the import option via create new calendar. However it does not import any new items.
I suspect that its the formatting of the csv (which is then converted to ical).
Any tips...anyone?

You saw this article? http://www.jevents.net/en/jevents-15-to ... csv-format
You are using JEvents 2.0.11?
Did you "Allow Frontend Import of Events" in the Jevents config?

Yes, I'm using 2.0.11 of JEvents, and have front end importing as an option as well.
I've used the sample file in the article you mentioned. I've attempted to set the csv using excel and open office.
What are the delimiters used in this file? Could that be a problem?
I've used an online converter to change the csv to ical and the file won't import to google calendar, or into jevents. This is why I suspect that its the csv.

You need double quotes (") and commas (,). Some people have problems with double double quotes in their files i.e. something like
""this is text""
""this is text""
