SOLVED - Cannot save/edit events - backend
JEvents 2.0 was launched over 2 years ago and the latest stable version is version 2.2 which will run on Joomla 1.5 and Joomla 2.5. JEvents 1.5 is therefore no longer actively supported - you should upgrade to JEvents 2.2+ as soon as possible.

With each new browser release the need to use the mootools upgrade plugin will become more and more critical.
You can work around this problem by disabling editing events in tabs.

Thanks for the reply. Please let me know how to go about "disabling editing events in tabs" -- I do not see an option for this anywhere in JEvents configuration. On the "Event Editing" tab, there is an "Edit Events in one tab" setting (set to No) but that is the closest thing I find. I'm using JEvents 1.5.6.

Also, I would like to point out that my issues concern backend editing.
Thanks,
Vicki

Sorry, that did not solve the problem or change any of the behavior.

Hi, Tony and Geraint -
I am just wondering if you have any plans to release a modified version that will work without the Mootools upgrade -- or if you will have a new workaround soon for the issues?
(Incidentally, if there is some code I need to change myself for a workaround, please let me know and I will do that.)
Thanks,
Vicki

The only problem we know of (which is only encountered by some users) is with editing events with tabs enabled.
If you have disabled tabbed event editing and continue to have problems then this is something different and you will need to give us more details including all the javascript error messages and any additional javascript loaded on your site by 3rd party addons. The worst culprit being old versions of jQuery.

OK, thanks - I thought this was an issue you were seeing already.
I will do a clean install of JEvents on a development site (with no other extensions) and see if I still see the Event editing and saving issues in Firefox 9.0.1.
If I don't, then I will add the extensions we normally use, one by one, to find out where the break is occurring.
I will get back with you later today and let you know what I find out, including any errors that are generated.
Thanks again,
Vicki

Hi, Geraint -
I have done a clean install of Joomla and JEvents 1.5.6 - no other 3d party extensions have been added and no settings have been changed.
I still have the issue with Firefox 9.0.1 -- cannot add an event (or edit, save, apply, or cancel).
I will PM you the site url and Superadmin login info.
Thanks,
Vicki
