Changing default access level
Changing default access level

I'm not speaking of who can add events or who can view events, really.
I'm using J!1.5 in Legacy mode, and JEvents 1.4.3 SVN.
What I'm trying to do is have a calendar with a mix of publicly-viewable and private events. My site's registered users will all be under 13 and I want them to be able to add events through the front end, but I don't want their added events to be publicly viewable.
Is there a way to change the default setting for all added events from Access: Public to Access: Registered so that they're automatically private, rather than public like they are currently? I'd rather rely on an adult to change that setting rather than rely on the kids to do so. I know it's a programmatical problem, and I'm not familiar enough with PHP to be able to find it myself without breaking something beyond repair.
I LOVE this component; probably one the best for Joomla! out there.
Edited to fix typoes.
