Publishing imported & uploaded events?
Publishing imported & uploaded events?
by developerx » Fri May 01, 2009 11:08 am
Hi,
Thanks very much for such a brilliant tool.
We have an in-house booking management system and we use that for management of event bookings internally. Now that we have installed a JEVENTS Version1.4.3rc2 on our Joomla 1.5.9 (Legacy Mode turned on), we wonder if its possible to export events from the in-house system to JEVENTS and thus get them published automatically.
We can create any kind of files from the in-house system such as CSV files, SQL files or anything else. So we need to know:
1- how could we (or you) customize JEVENTS in such a way that it can accept manual uploads of events
2- in what format do we need our created file have to be able to upload the events
3- what variables should our created file have to correctly upload and publish an event
Looking forward to your response. Thankyou

You're better off upgrading to JEvents 1.5 - this offers iCal import of events.

Thanks. Three quick questions.
1. With regards to compatibility, I read on the forum that one needs Joomla! 1.5.9+ . Is int inclusive of the version 1.5.9 ?
2. The Joomla Events 1.5 Quick Start page (http://www.jevents.net/en/jevents-15-to ... uick-start) says that
"Calendars imported from a local ical File. These can not be refreshed after the initial import. "
What does 'refershing' mean here? Does it imply the events imported from ical can't be edit/deleted?
3. Will Jevents 1.5 work with the legacy mode turned ON (we need it turned on so that some other events do not stop working) ?

You can edit them but you can't import them again - if you want to update a calendar using an import then you'll need a URL.

No problems
