			<title>The JEvents Demo</title>
			<link>http://www.jevents.net/content/view/7/5/lang,en_GB/</link>
			<description>Welcome to the JEvents Demo

We have created 4 demo accounts that you can use to try out JEvents.

Joomla only allows one browser session to be logged in to an account at any one time so please check the Who&amp;#39;s Online module on the left to see which accounts are logged in. Then, out of courtesy to others, please choose one of the unused accounts to log in and experiment with JEvents.

			Username

			Password

			 demo
			demo

			 demo2
			demo2

			 demo3
			demo3

			 demo4
			demo4

You can then add or modify events and see for yourself how powerful and easy to use JEvents is! When you click on All Events in the menu at the top you will see the option to add an event at the bottom of the calendar or on the left beneath the Events Legend. Or click here (index.php?option=com_events task=admin Itemid=2) (when logged in) to see a list of the events created recently (These are cleaned out automatically after 24 hours) by the demo account you log in as.

Please let us know how you get on at the JEvents development site (http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/jevents).

p.s. You can even translate events from the frontend. Change the language to the language of your choice and edit the event in the new language. This creates a Joomfish translation without the need to login to the backend

p.p.s. Remember to vote for the component at the joomla extensions page (http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,95/Itemid,35/) (but only if you like it )

			<title>Welcome to JEvents</title>
			<link>http://www.jevents.net/content/view/1/5/lang,en_GB/</link>
			<description>
JEvents consists of a Joomla component and a number of modules and mambots.

Collectively you can create one-off or repeating events under various events categories.

Modules

Mini-calendar module (events_cal) which gives a quick overview of events which can be placed on any page
Latest events modue (events_latest) which gives a highly configurable summary of upcoming events
Events legend (events_legend) - displayed alongside the component gives you a summary of event categories and an easy way to limit the events shown to specific categories

			<title>JEvents 1.5 Alpha</title>
			<link>http://www.jevents.net/content/view/32/5/lang,en_GB/</link>
			<description>
We are please to announce that you can now try JEvents 1.5 alpha for Joomla 1.5 - you can download the files you need at the forge (http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/jevents/frs/?action=FrsReleaseView release_id=6911).

This is an alpha release for feedback and testing. IT SHOULD NOT BE USED ON A PRODUCTION SITE. Please note that not everything is finished. Here are some instructions for using the build.

WARNING

Do NOT install this on a live site - it is an alpha release that has only been partially tested. Also the code may change a fair amount before the final release and you may well need to clean out test events in order to deal with upgrades.

Feedback, Comments and Bug Reports

At this stage we are very interested in technically literate comments and bug reports. Ideally you should diagnose the problem yourself and give us detailed information about how to recreate the problem.

The best place to discuss this build and report any bugs you find is our new forum (see the Forum link in the top menu above).

Installation

Install the component as a normal Joomla 1.5 component.
After installation change the config to replace the admin email address
You must then click the following links in the &amp;#39;Development&amp;#39; tab in the JEvents control panel in order (VERY IMPORTANT)

Migrate admin menus and update databases (this will make sure your tables are up to date - the sql in the xml install file is more difficult to maintain during development and is therefore out of date!)
Migrate All Events to IcalEvents (this will copy all your existing events into the new format, if you have any - without removing them)
You MUST create at least one category before doing anything else

A neat feature of the migration link is that you can view &amp;#39;old style&amp;#39; events directly alongside &amp;#39;new style&amp;#39; events to test repeats etc.
